BIO
Venezuelan Post-Rock outfit, Zeta is a multidisciplinary experiment that uses their heavy, atmospheric sound as a positive force for change, considering music to be the magic wand granting space for connection and healing - KEXP
The group is defined by its strong emphasis on dense polyrhythmic percussion that sway from profoundly authentic Afro-Caribbean music mixed with the most visceral Punk beats. With atmospheric elements that are drawn from 70’s era psychedelia and Post-Rock to form a intense and unique listening experience.
“Live, they’re a turbocharged rhythm machine with principal drummer Eduardo Sandoval at center stage and an array of percussion extending out to other players. Around that thundering foundation, a stunning latticework of guitars and vocals weaves, dances and dives” -Bao Le-Huu from Orlando Weekly
Zeta is also known for touring relentlessly - and due to their nomadic nature they foster and adopt artistic communities of the places they visit.

The band was Founded in 2003 in a little town in the coast of the Caribbean Sea called Lecheria (the smallest municipality in Venezuela consisting of 7 square miles and 79 thousand inhabitants). They now reside in South Florida, USA. Zeta is comprised by the multi-instrumentalist and founders Juan Chi and Dani Debuto, with Chino Sandoval on Drums and Antonio Pereira on Bass. Zeta has played over a 1500 shows in their 20 year career and are set to keep on playing live shows for the next 10 years (at least)
“Was it medicine to you?” EP 2025
The new album, set for release on January 9th, 2025, brings guest appearances from Anthony Green (Circa Survive, Sound Of Animal Fighting, Saosin) and Pierce Jordan of Soul Glo, further solidifying the collaborative spirit that has defined Zeta’s long journey. On tracks like “Steps” and “The Truth,” Zeta invites these vocalists into their sonic palette, blending voices and styles into a cohesive, powerful statement. The result is an album that feels both personal and political—an exploration of identity, migration, and collective struggle. -Idioteq Zine
There’s a sense of history imbued into every note Zeta plays, a weight that feels both ancestral and immediate. With roots tracing back to a small Venezuelan town by the Caribbean Sea, the band has spent over two decades weaving together genres and influences that span continents and cultures. On Was It Medicine to You?, the band brings their musical pilgrimage full circle—this time with an English-only lyrical landscape and a clear focus on privilege and social imbalance.
Their latest single, “Privilege,” premiering today, is an unflinching look at the inherent inequality baked into the system. Zeta’s fury is palpable. They delve into the hollow nature of surface-level positivity, exposing how it blinds people to others’ suffering.
“the video for its first single, “Privilege.” In true Zeta fashion, it’s heavy, atmospheric, and far-out, with a pounding rhythmic undercurrent. The video was made by Bob Sweeney” - Brooklyn Vegan
“TODO BAILARLO” LP 2022
ABAJO CADENAS ORCHESTRA: Juan Chi, Dani Debuto, Chino Sandoval, Tony Pereira, Claudio Ortiz, Liza Ortiz, Monserrat Miranda, Alex Musanostra & Yare The Devil
Their newest album Todo Bailarlo (April 22, 2022 Earth Day) was recorded in collaboration with The Abajo Cadenas Orchestra (a collective of musicians spread out across the world) and explores themes of healing, nature, and resistance. Blending traditional Latin American instrumentation with an evolving, experimental sound. The record is out now on Skeletal Lightning and available on all streaming platforms.
Concept For The Album
"Todo Bailarlo” means “dance it all” a metaphorical way of proclaiming that life is composed of different rhythms, some more happy and uplifting, others mellow or sad, but we are here to dance through all of them. With open hearts and no expectations, we embrace changes, and accept difficult situations while honoring every moment with love and compassion.
“In the creation of these tunes we wanted to explore different rhythms for each song, highlighting sounds that influenced us from all over the Caribbean, Latin America, and Brazil. For example, “La Flor de la Palabra” is built on our interpretation of a Batucada rhythm, played with an intensity and fervor that you’d expect from a Punk band that’s been on the road now for over 2 decades.” - Dani and Juanchi contend.
Every song has different rhythmic composition that were created to represent an important moment of life.
Produced by Zeta and Brok Mende. Recorded mixed and mastered at Friends Of Friends Recordings.
